After decades of serving the scientific community, we are announcing the closure of the ProScience Glass Shop's custom fabrication and repair division.

Our story began in 1912, when James Price Richards founded Richards Glass Co. Ltd. to supply the nascent Canadian pharmaceutical industry. For over a century, our name has been synonymous with quality, from the early days of the ‘Rigo Oval’ bottle to the advanced technical glass we distribute today.

In 1972, we deepened our commitment to discovery by establishing the ProScience Glass Shop. For more than 50 years, our master glassblowers have stood at the intersection of art and science, using fire and breath to create the custom apparatus that powered Canadian research. We are incredibly proud of the work we have done—the vessels we’ve blown, the instruments we’ve repaired, and the breakthroughs we’ve supported.

While this chapter of custom fabrication concludes, the legacy of technical expertise established by Richards Glass continues through our Glassopolis architectural divisions. We thank you—our customers, partners, and friends—for the privilege of being part of your laboratories and your discoveries.
